Smugglers Notch

Looking at the Smugglers Notch website, it seems that it is a place to go to mainly in the winter time or in the middle of the summer. Has anyone been to the resort during the Spring time? Would you recommend it?

depends why you want to go!

if you want all the family activities and kids camps then it has to be summer or winter. if you just want to use the resort as a base for a quiet week exploring northern Vermont then spring will be fine - just bear in mind it is called "mud season" for a reason!

the RCI page on the smuggs.com website gives a good summary of what is available during each season - exact dates will change slightly from year to year, but it will give you a good idea of what is available when.

Thank you very much for your reply, it was very helpful. I didn't know that it was called "mud season" up there that time of the year. Also i didn't see the seasonal activity page when I was on the website. So the link you sent was very helpful. I think I will wait on Smugg until the summer or the end of the year for the kids. Thanks again

If you have younger kids, fall is a very nice time to go too. We went before our older one entered elementary school. We had the outdoor heated door right downstairs all by ourselves. It was really relaxing. The colors are wonderful. There are enough interesting places to keep them entertained for a week.

We went to Smuggs in late Sept. last year and it was beautiful. We are retired so it was just the two of us. it was VERY quiet nearly everywhere except Ben & Jerry's!!! We drove to Montreal just for the day. It was just a little over 2 hour drive and the city was wonderful. Even though we were there many years ago, we had fun exploring again!
