Golf at reasonable cost - Myrtle Beach

Hello,

First trip to Myrtle Beach for 4 of us and we are amateur golfers at best. Would like to golf and will need to rent clubs. Any suggestions for reasonable golf at courses that are not for professionals only

Also would appreciate any other advice on what NOT to miss while in Myrtle Beach. We are staying at the Club Regency at Regency Towers.

Thanks everyone

Marjean

Depending on the time of year you are going, it still may be expensive to play at an average course. (I know, you didn't ask about price).

An easier course would be Wicked Stick which is pretty open most of the way. Also, Indigo Creek isn't overly difficult. Also in the same (average) price range are River Oaks and Possum Trot, but they are a little narrower down the fairway.

Check out THIS LINK and click under the golf club to view descriptions and rates for all courses in the Myrtle Beach area. Be careful, some of these courses could be a 45+ minute ride from where you're at. Also, rates vary widely depending on season, but you can almost always find better rates midweek or during the afternoon. I find this site to be very good as far as prices go, especially if you are playing weekend morning golf. Check around on the internet, they may be better deals to be had.

Actually, that's prime time for golf. The prices don't get any higher than that time of year.

The link I provided should help you out quite a bit. Be sure you have something reserved or booked before you go down. Daily rate seem to be higher and most courses only discout for SC residents.
