SWALLOTAIL = Hilton Head

RCI just phoned us with a week's availability at Swallowtail starting May 1, 2009. Having never been to HHI, we are novices and would appreciate any feedback about the resort. Has it been updated? How are the facilities/staff, etc. We have to respond to RCI by 11PM tomorrow...please help!!! THANKS!!!!

Resorts: Marriott Manor Club Sequel; Marriott Ocean Watch; Marriott Monarch in Sea Pines; Swallowtail at Sea Pines.
We own at Swallowtail and love it. That said there are few amenities - a small outdoor pool, a hot tub, a couple of gas grills. No planned activities. If you will be traveling with children and are used to amenities you could be disapointed. However, Swallowtail is in Sea Pines - a favorite location. It is within walking distance of Harbortown and the beach is over a mile away. Swallowtail is accross the street from Sea Pines Center, a small shopping area with restaurants and a bike rental place(bike rental and riding around Sea Pines is a favorite activity). You will also get an activity card for some discount at the Sea Pines golf courses and the use of the tennis facilities and pool near Harbortown. The villas are two stories with plenty of room and free WIFI. May is a perfect time to go as the weather is great and its not crowded as school is still in session. We will be there May 15th.

Resorts: Marriott Barony Beach & Marriott Harbour Point HHI Brewster Green Resort on Cape Cod
It's in a great location and it is a townhouse style not far from the marina. Great bike paths in Sea Pines. I do not know when it was last upgraded. No amenties like the larger resorts but that would not stop me from staying here. I toured a unit about 5 yrs back when another Tugger was staying there. There is a suite on the upper level with a living room.

This is not one of the resorts with large multiple pools ,spa or activities.
