I am trying a more descriptive title to the thread. We will spend one week in Quebec City at the end of September. We will take one week or a little more as a road trip to get there with stopping along the Way. A rough outline of the itinerary is : Balto to Cape Cod, Boston, Bar Harbor, Montreal, Quebec

Any comments, suggestions, additions, subtractions?

Since you are doing the coast on the way up you might want to head inland on the way back. Cut across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and then head over to the Finger Lakes in New York (lots of vinyards).
