Baltic cruise on Holland's Eurodam

Has anyone taken this cruise? It's a 10 day roundtrip from Copenhagen on Holland America's new ship Eurodam. I love the ports and the two days in St. Petersburg, but the only two reviews I have seen are awful. Reviews tend to be subjective, so if anyone has taken this cruise or has other insights I would love to hear them.

No particular insights on this ship or itinerary. Sounds like a wonderful cruise to me. We had a perfectly satisfactory cruise on Oosterdam last month. We've been on several HAL cruises.

HAL has installed demonstration kitchens on (I think) all their ships. For a price, you can get a cooking class with the head chef. Ours had about 10 participants. Visualize a small group around Emeril's counter. As you can imagine, these opportunities fill up early. If this appeals, board as early as possible and head to the 'Head Office" (purser's desk) to sign up. I don't think you can sign up early or on-line.

Holland America is a great cruise line. The early reviews (2008) for this ship were awful because this new ship had some major bugs that had to be worked out. The more recent reviews have been much better.

You'll have a great time. However, if the ship's reviews still concern you, consider the 12-day Baltic cruise on HAL's Rotterdam, a cruise I switched to for this summer after my Baltic cruise on the Eurodam was canceled because a large group chartered the ship.

Friend of mine is doing this in May. I'll try to get info, as I would like to do this one day myself.

I just saw this thread and wanted to post because we had a wonderful cruise last July on the Eurodam. It was the 2nd sailing and we were very impressed. We knew it was a new ship and there might be some glitches, but I don't recall anything major that was a problem.

We did the fjords/Scotland itinery, but I've done the Baltic on the Amsterdam a few years ago. It's a great cruise, you'll love the ports. It's probably my favorite cruise!

I sailed the Eurodam on an Eastern Caribbean cruise. I'll have to agree with the majority - a major disappointment. I was so looking forward to HAL because I had heard and read such great reviews about the line. My experience was that the cruise was very much run of the mill. I followed this cruise with a five day RCCL out of Port Canaveral- a last minute, very inexpensive cruise to the Bahamas. The experience was not much different from HAL and at least the food was served hot. Because of our HAL experience we are totally turned off to cruising. We enjoy our timeshares so much more!
