Santa Fe and Albuquerque weather

Why is Santa Fe always 8-10 degrees cooler than Albuquerque? We are going on 4/10, and I have been watching the daily temps to get an idea of what kind of clothes to bring. It seems to stay in the 40's. I hope it gets warmer before I get there.

It's cooler because of the higher elevation. If you head up to Taos, it will be cooler still.

I've only been to Santa Fe in winter so far (November and March). It was beautiful and we still did a lot, even in the cooler weather. I took a lot of layers.

Just checked one of the online weather sites. Looks like Santa Fe will be sunny and the temps up in the 60's next week.

Thanks Luanne. I guess I will plan on layering.

Good advise from Luanne. The weather in Santa Fe can be quite varriable during April. Usually it is sunny, cool and breezy, or it may snow. I live about 40 miles north of SF, and lived in SF for 15 years. If you have any other questions about your tirp, let me know. I'll try to help.
