Room upgrades at WSJ?

Just wondering, I have a studio week 34 (typically slow season) at WSJ. Just wondering if they ever do room upgrades?

This is a perk that is usually reserved for Elite Owners - I'd be really surprised if you got upgraded, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
 
You may find this difficult at WSJ since the week and unit you bought is fixed (like all WSJ Owners) - and this becomes your specific unit that is valued at a certain SO level - and pre-reserved. Perhaps if there is an empty villa, but I have never heard it happening for an Owner. I have seen this happen for a person staying in the hotel portion and being upgraded toa TS villa.

but as DM said - can't hurt to ask...
 
In today's economy, you never know. Just ask at check-in. I am sure sales in the Bay Vista section, that they might put you in an unoccupied room, in hopes of selling you an upgrade.
 
granted - economy bad, can't hurt to ask... but the way the system is set-up and the unique situation at WSJ - WSJ Owners are not in-line for upgrades - IME based on no reports of that happening for Owners, but I have seen it for hotel folks.

hmmm... I should try also - having a 2Bd... maybe I could get in one of those great 3Bd with a private pool like last year...? otherwise I would take our villa over anything in the BV section - but a studio upgrade to a 2Bd in BV would be sweet.
{of course - after you get off the Westin ferry they hand you your room keys at the dock along with a Iguana shuttle and rum punches waiting - and with the travel lag, heat/humidity and shock of being dropped in paradise - it is tough to think straight} :D

weeks 23-24 are coming up soon - drinks at the pool bar
