Question How much time should I allow for changing terminals @ DFW?

On a Saturday in May, we will be flying from ORD to DFW, changing terminals, and then flying to PVR. Both flights will be on AA. How much time should I allow between the two flights? Option # 1, as scheduled, would give us 1 hr 45 min between flights. However, that flight is only on-time 73% of the time and has an average delay of 34 min. Even if that is enough time for us, is that enough time for our luggage to be transferred to a different terminal and loaded onto the plane? Option # 2 would give us 3 hrs 5 min between flights. TIA for any advice. I hope to book our flights tomorrow.

Resorts: Starwood-WKORV, SDO, & SVR, Branson-Roark Vacation Club, Tahoe-Kingsbury Crossing, Kauai Beach Villas - 2 weeks
If you book it as one ticket/all theway through, the airline will automatically allow the necessary amount of time between flights, and it may be cheaper, too.

DFW

I am in Lawton, OK and any flight we take has to go through DFW. It takes about 30-45 min to get to your gate. If you do it in less than 30 min you ended up with really close gates (which they change all the time at last min) or your were running through the place! It takes me about the same amount of time to get through Dallas as it does LAX.

I honestly never fly-in without allowing myself 2 hours. I just go and have a sit down dinner @TGI Fridays during my wait.

Good Luck!

I think we did what you're calling option#1 in Feb on a Tuesday and had an hour to spare. This was a flight that left ORD at 6:00 am. In May with much less of a chance of bad weather delaying your takeoff you should be okay. They announced all of the connecting gates shortly b-4 landing and gave directions to the people mover from the arrival gate.
