Tuggers, I've lost it

-- Cannot find notes on the website to compute when we should call the airlines to make our reservations.

Looking at when to call for a June 28, 2010 reservation. Thank you

330 days prior is 02 August 2009.

Short of counting the days, try making a reservation. You won't be able to if your too far out. Keep checking back and seeing how close to your target you are. Sooner or later you will be with the right time frame.

This is what I do. You can figure it out when you can't book your date and keep going backwards with differant dates until you find a date you can book and then count the days till the flight day you want. I just booked Mon for my Presidents week flight to Cancun and figure the date this way.

Much easier if you don't bookmark the website:

Go into an Excel worksheet. In one cell, say A1, put the date you want to travel, for example, 6/28/10
in the next cell put this: =A1-331 and you will find the date you need.

It's worth noting that some airlines (Delta, that I know of) are no longer routinely releasing award seats at 331 days out. When I booked for my July '09 trip, there were no saver seats avail at 331 days out. They were finally released in mid-December, which was ~7 months out.

Wow - that's a huge difference. What else will the airlines do to make us vacation travelers jump thru hoops?
