It appears that Marriott has reversed their stance and is now giving stay credits for stays at your home resort.

Granted, 7 nights credit wouldn't do anything for most of us here, but for those who do routinely use Starwood hotels, those 7 nights might push them over the edge to platinum status.
Given how hotel chains routinely tweak their reward systems based on what their competitors are doing, it might make sense for some to contact Starwood with this information and request a similar benefit. After all, why shouldn't TS stays count towards SPG status? SPG folks sure use our TSs to their advantage.
