This firm GUARANTEES to sell my banked weeks at high rate within two to three weeks. Of course they want $250 today on credit card - no exceptions but claim to be legit and will reverse the charges if mot sold in three weeks. I have been approached by others with similar claims and they had bad reviews. Does anyone know this company? Also goes by "bestresortrentalandsale.com. Thanks for your help.

Steven

Scam...

..Of course they want $250 today on credit card - no exceptions

Ask if they'll take 2x the requested amount deducted from the sale of your timeshare if they're so positive they can deliver.

If they won't take $500 from the proceeds AFTER the sale, what would that tell you?

Scam or not?

I did exactly that and she said that people got their money and didn't pay them. If I went with them and they didn't sell the weeks that I could call the credit card company and dispute the charges.

Steven

Wait---they're the ones renting it out, and collecting money from the renter. They can't take the 2x payment out of the rental proceeds and send you the balance?

Seriously---you know this is a scam. Why even bother?

Another time share question!

I have read the postings about bestresortrentalandsale.com. I also read the comments about new posters. Well I appologize, I am new but I have a valid question.
I received a call from bestresortrentalandsale.com last week and again tonight. They claim to be the only company that offers a guarantee, they are not. They are very convincing and pushy but I did not get taken in by them. Especially after checking this BBS. Thank you for all your comments and recommendations.
I have a time share that I would like to sell. Will sell at a loss even. I have developed a heart condition and my specialist wants me to stay closer to home and not to travel much.
When you buy these things they tell you it is easy to sell them if you should need to. Not so.
My question is, Does ANYONE know of a legitimate company that can sell timeshares?

Hi and welcome to TUG! :hi:

There are legitimate resellers, but they charge a commission of $1,000 - $3,500 after the sale of the TS. However, in this economy, most TS's are selling for 0-10% of original retail price and won't sell for enough to cover the commission. Right now on ebay there are over 200 TS's for sale for $0-$100 and most of them have no bids. Many owners don't realize the condition of the resale market, and it is a bitter pill to swallow. Your first step is to find the REAL resale price of your TS by looking at the resale market. Chances are it is worth far less than you hoped. After that, you can formulate a plan to sell it yourself, or give it away. We can help you with that.

Good luck!

Here's what you can do.

Let them know this sounds like a great opportunity, and you're thrilled that they can find a buyer for you at a reasonable price. Now find out what listing price they suggest for your unit, a reasonable price but one at which they are confident they can sell it without risking having to refund your money.

Then tell them that you are so excited you are willing to let them take $1000 on the deal instead of their $250. You're going to sell them your timeshare for $1000 less than the listing price they gave you. They can then turn around and sell it themselves, pocketing an extra $750 with virtually no additional work.

There isn't a legitimate business in the world that wouldn't take you up on that opportunity in a heartbeat. Any real business would be totally stupid to not take an offer to quadruple their profit on a transaction.

In fact, there are only two reasons for them to not take you up on your offer:

1. They are a stupldly operated business. If so, you don't want to do business with them.

2. They aren't a legitimate business and they really can't sell your unit in two to three weeks as they "guarantee".

bestresortrentalandsale.com scam???

Thank you for your timely and good advice. I took it and here's what happened.

I got a call from Robert at bestresortrentalandsale.com. I told him I was interested. We discussed the price and he said that he would list it for $699.00 and he could get between $21,000.00 and $27,000.00. I said "that would be wonderful." Robert asked what name he should put on the cheque so I gave him all the details. He asked for my credit card and this is where things got interesting. He confirmed to me that he could find a quick buyer in a matter of days for $20,000.00. He then asked for my card number again. This is where things get really good. I said no I will not give you my card number but I will sell the timeshare to you for $10,000.00. You have all these customers who are anxious to buy. You sell it to them for $20,000.00 and make a quick $10,000.00 in your pocket. He stuttered!!! Then said He could not do that because he can't take a commission. I said it is not a commission. You own it. Robert said he had to check with his manager. A minute later he came back and said "No we can't do that because We did that in the past and could not sell it!!!!!" I told him "I founded and ran a very successful computer business for 18 years and if someone came to me and put his printer on the table and asked $100.00 for it and I could sell it for $500.00, I would jump at it. You are turning down the opportunity to make a profit that is 15 times greater than the fee you are asking, there is either one of two things, either your boss is not a good business man or this is a scam and either way I do not want to do business with you. He did not even say good bye, Just "CLICK".

Again, thank you for your timely advice.

Yes.. a SCAM

Just got a call from a "Nick Orow". Quoted me $1295 for their services. Said that he would be able to rent my 133-points, 1-week, out for $2175. And, that he could sell it for $24,000!!! ha!

He sent me the attached "agreement"... Basically, you're paying $1295, to get listed on their site. There's no real guarantee of anything. I'm not even sure that, if there *was* a renter, that they would even "process" any paperwork for you!...

It's "legal", since they *are* listing your property. But, all of their promises are *verbal*, and not written.

The following message, is their actual contract that I got them to eMail me.

Mark

LOL! Well played! :hysterical:

I was all smiles coming home and excited to tell my wife about TSRS - Buy Back Guarantee. I was going to research first when I get home but deep inside, I was really hoping it was true - at least get some of my money back. Then I found this thread ... man, do I really wanna blast these people who give hard workers like us who pay through honest living FALSE hopes. How can they have a good night sleep?!

In service to fellow Time Share owners - here is what I was offered and directed to this site:

http://www.tsrsonline.com/
Click on View Contracts and click on View Contracts somewhere in the bottom right page or this page:
http://www.tsrsonline.com/contracts/rental-sale-samplecontract.php

I cannot copy and paste but look at Paragraph D (I have a voice mail directing me to this):

I will retype here:

BROKER BUY BACK GUARANTEE: TSRSonline hereby states that if after10 months of advertising your timeshare on our venues, which begins from the date we received your signed contract, if you notify TSRSonline in writing and ask TSRSonline to act as a principal and purhcase your timeshare, we will have Licensed California real estate broker to submit to you, on behalf of TSRSonline acting as principal/buyer, a market price/value offer for the purchase etc. etc. (tired typing word for word ... )

So, per this thread - a SCAM. EFFIN scammers!
