I am negociating a gold week at Barony Beach with a very good price. I think this might be not only a good resort with a very good season to go, but maybe a good trader too (although it is not a lockoff unit), but it still looks very interesting to me.

My question is: in case a need to trade it very often (with a good week reserved during the 13-21 week period), does it trade very well, average or poorly? Any idea?

Thanks for any help. It will be easy to decide with the imputs.

Barony Gold should trade well.

I haven't tried to use mine as a trade, but I was told that it should have "more trade power than most." If AC's are any indication, II did not offer a 2009 one for the Barony Gold although they did offer one for the SurfWatch Gold 3BR.

I would think that as long as you're not trying to trade into the newest properties during the Platinum Season or holiday weeks, and you're depositing an Easter or late-May/early-September week from Barony, then you should have success.

SueDonJ,

Several posters in older threads stated that they received an AC for a Barony Gold 2009 deposit. Sorry I can't provide the link. I don't know how to include it in my post. The weeks were between March 19, 2009 and September 2, 2009. I think two of those weeks are silver and some are gold, but most are platinum.

You're right, I see in the 2009 AC thread that CMF got an AC offer for his 4/09 Barony week.

My 2009 SurfWatch gold got me an AC which we used last September and right now my II account indicates that an AC is available still for my 2009 SurfWatch platinum. But the 2009 Barony week doesn't show that same offer on II.com. If I was to trade it, though, I'd call II to ask for one anyway. The worst that can happen is they'll say "no." :)

My 2009 platinum Barony week doesn't show the message for an AC either, but it does qualify. An II rep told me that was probably due to a glitch in the system. Possibly this is what is also happening with your week not showing the AC message.

Can you please give us a ballpark price for that Gold Barony. Don't say where you found it or others will be looking into it as well.

I was interested in a Gold Oceanfront awhile ago but backed off that in favor of another Frenchman's Cove Platinum week. If the price was right I might consider buying a Gold Barony. That is if I could find one for the price I wanted to pay.

icydog,

How much was the gold oceanfront week?

Idanna,

I have heard that these are good traders, but if you don't plan on staying there then don't pay for the oceanfront or oceanside- get a garden view and pay less $$- II considers it all the same whatever the view category.

I know if I bought the week it would have to be oceanfront because I would use it myself. That price, $4000, is an excellent buy and I think it will be an excellent trader as well. Congratulations. :cheer:

I don't have an oceanfront week. I was in the market for a gold OF week a few weeks ago. I decided to buy a platinum Frenchman's Cove instead.

Excellent price! I have been wanting a Barony gold myself for a good price to use not trade. Lucky find, enjoy it!

We have a Gold O S. We use it Labor day week. However, we do not trade it. We take our vacation there. Barony is our Number 1 resort. We have stayed at several Marriotts on HH and like this one the best. However, everyone has different likes. ENJOY

WE LOVED IT AS WELL. It is a top quality resort that I personally would never trade.

I bought it! Let's do the paperwork.

I need 2 advises:

*I have to reserve 2009 week: first period (weeks 13-21) should alreadly be gone by now, or I wouldn't be able to deposit or so. Second period (weeks 35-43) is left. What should be a good 2009 week to reserve, and then probably deposit?

*I also have to reserve 2010 week, and I was thinking about easter, which should have a high demand, I could use or trade it (I prefer "use it" instead, but you never know it). Any suggestions? 2010 Easter should be April 04th. Friday, Saturday or Sunday?

Thanks for any help. I am really happy I found TUG BBS in January, you people are a lot of help.

September and early to mid October are nice and warm. Lots of owners use their week then.

March and April are iffy on temps. In April there is a golf classic that is popular. May is best IMHO and that's when I visit. We'll be there is 3.5 weeks. Yipee!

Are you having the current owners reserve your weeks? It seems that you will not be able to do that yourself until you are the recognized owner, which could take several months....

I will ask them to reserve the weeks for me. It might take 2 to 3 months to transfer it, I think I will run out of options when it's done.

pcgirl 54, have a great stay in 3.5 weeks.
