I will be going staying in a one bedroom ocean view unit at the Kalia tower in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone had any suggetions on which floor and room to try to request. I have stayed in the lagoon tower several times, but this will be my first time in the Kalia Tower. Is it best to call ahead about a week or so before check in to put in a request?

The Kalia is part hotel and part timeshare. All the timeshares start at the 12'th floor and go to the 17 or 18'th. The is very little difference in the view as you get higher. They are all the same size and layout as well. The ones closest to the Hale Koa side might be a bit quieter from street noise, but try to stay away from the Kxx51 rooms, they have a common door with the studio on that floor.

Even or odd numbered room?

Are the even or odd numbered rooms on the ocean side for the Kalia Towers? If we're reserved for a mountain view, do you think it would be possible to request an ocean view room at check in time? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for a floor/room on the mountain view side for Kalia towers?

If it s an HGVC reservation, then the mountain view is on the other side of the building. The mountain views is 4800 points, and the ocean view is 6200. Try for the Hale Koa side of the building, you can hang over the balcony and see Diamond Head and some water. Doubtfull they will upgrade you to a full ocean view unless you have more points, but it never hurts to ask. If it is a hotel reservation, then the chances are pretty good as the place is very empty these days. One thing to try is to ask about the " owners tour" when you get there. They tend to upgrade people they think may buy.
