Hi, I am new to this site and have searched through the forums for anything on this organization. Has anyone ever dealt with Utopia World Vacations? I own several timeshares and was recently contacted by them offering to purchase one of my timeshares that I have up for sale. Are they legit or another scam? I checked out their website and it looks legit, but unfortunately I have fallen into these traps before.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Never heard of 'em, but....

In all likelihood, this is just another "upfront fee required first" operation of one form or flavor or another. They have a "buyer" if you have the "fee". Once they have the fee firmly in hand, the mythical buyer (who never actually existed in the first place) promptly disappears, dies, or is suddenly captured and whisked away by an alien spacecraft.

Think about it for a moment. In this economy, with a lot of timeshares selling for a penny on eBay, and over a thousand timeshares listed there at this very moment, what is the likelihood that a call from out of the blue to buy your timeshare is actually legitimate?

You're right. Even though I haven't been hit up for the upfront fee as of yet, I suspect that's the next step in this scam.

Thanks for responding.
