Most of the dining coupons for my local book are unknown and I'd been nervous to randomly try without a recommendation.

I'm spending 2 weeks in the San Diego/Carlsbad area, would the Entertainment Book be worth it? They're having a $12 with free shipping sale right now. I'd mainly be looking for dining discounts since we already have our activities planned.

I just bought the San Diego book.

I figured if I used it once I would break even.

Use it twice and I come ahead.:D

I also looked at the Las Vegas book but didn't think it would be worth it.

I just bought another Boston book and one for Albuquerque/Santa Fe. I've seen them go as low as $10 in the past, but I figured I'd get our vacation book now to be sure I have it. The Boston book, we use extensively.

If you go to www.entertainment.com you can see the offers in each book on their website and decide if you would benefit or not.

yeah, I was looking, but I don't recognize any of those restaurants so it's hard to say.

Except for the fast food coupons, you don't find many well knows restaurants in the E book. For the most part they are small, independently owned business that are trying to drum up some business. It's a trade off - you get an inexpensive meal, but you have to be willing to try an unknown product.

Actually, we've used the E coupons to try out new restaurants -- and we've found new favourites. If the book is only $12, it would be well worth it. We actually save more money on art gallery admissions, etc. and save the cost of the book in only 1 or 2 transactions.
