Sad News RE: Mountain Top in St Thomas

I am in St Thomas for two weeks. Sorry to say that Mountain Top caught fire last night and burned to the ground. No information as yet as to the cause of the fire. The fire was first noticed by a neighbor around 7:30 pm. All firefighters on island responded to the fire and worked well into the night to successfully keep the fire from spreading to other residences in the area. No one was injured. The local water hauling drivers worked for many hours bringing water up the curving road to help fight the fire.

I had not been up there in several years,nad went last week. I was sorry thatthe pretty parrots were not there any more. In hindsight, I am glad they were no longer housed there.

So sad.
