My "baby" is now 21 and works for "The Mouse." It appears that I am going to be able to visit her the week of July 17th-24th (or 18th-25th). This sort of came up and unlike my usual planning, not a year in advance. Not wanting to stay in a motel, I am torn. Wait for an RCI last minute? Trade a week now? II vacations seem pricey at $600 or am I wrong? I have no idea what July is like in Florida (except hot). Any thoughts on the best way to go without staying in a motel would be ever so appreciated. In advance, thank you for your advice.

Having lived in Florida for 8 years, I can tell you that it will be hot and humid. It will also be pretty busy in Orlando.

You have the best reason to go in July...to see your daughter!:) If that $600 gets you a nice condo with air conditioning, kitchen, and additional living space, I think you could justify it. There will probably be wonderful pools at the resort to cool off in; just plan on staying inside during the hottest part of the day.

One consideration; is the getaway less expensive than your mf plus the exchange fee? I have only used II for getaways, maybe an experience RCI last minute user can give you the likelihood of a low cost, Orlando stay.

That's a great price for prime summer. I would just rent it, if I were you.

I will never go back in the summer again--ever! It's too hot and humid, and that just doesn't go over well with my old lady hormones. We went mid-September twice now, and we won't do that again, either. Nineties and high humidity are not for me at all. Even nighttime temps are too hot at that time of year.

But that is just me, and when I look around, I don't see many people as sweaty as I get. I just hate hot! Denver is dry, and when it gets 90 degrees here, I don't sweat at all. It's what you are used to.

Thank you!

Thank you all.

I am so not looking forward to the heat and humidity BUT getting to see our daughter is priceless. She was just home for a family wedding last month and good-bye at the airport was way too hard. :bawl: Thought I would get used to it. Went to see her at Christmas and swore off Orlando week 52. What the heck, another week to swear off. :)

I really appreciate the advice of Tuggers and am glad to be reminded m/f+exchange fee. I forgot the basics!

Unless you go for some very questionable motels, a basic, clean room in Orlando in July is going to cost you a minimum of $60/night + taxes. Once you include the taxes, the II Getaways are virtually the same price or maybe $100 more for the week. Book the Getaway.

I was able to see 13 unit in kississimme area.. more are 1 bed roomers..

you dont have anything to trade..

that was with my South Africa Dik jun 08 week

Make sure you have plenty of water to drink. A nice hat and sunglasses. Yes, sunscreen. If you go to the park, go early or later. Stay away like from 11a m to 2 p m.
