This week I have noticed the following changes with the RCI Site. My exchanges increased, thank you RCI. :D The site is still Dial-up slow.:(

First couple of days when I clicked on Disney World Resorts, I pulled Animal Kingdom, Disney's Old Key West and Saratoga Springs. Since then when I click on Disney World Resorts, I pull 20 resorts none of which are Disney. These are the same resorts that show up regularly when you click on Orlando Area. No more Disney for me.:bawl:

The other thing I am seeing is when clicking to check on unit availability for 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 resorts. If it's a resort we have been to in the past 3 or 4 years, I get a popup message alerting me to that fact. Never had this happen before this latest enhancement. Don't mind this new fix, just was surprised when it popped up.

Anyone else seeing curious new things?

i am guessing that you just "saw" disney but did not attempt to hold or confirm. I "saw" DVC but when I went to hold them - the "no longer available" message came up. call to rci and chat with technie indicated they were having "phantom inventory" problems.....

I called RCI again today and was told the changes basically turned everything upside down at RCI. People who had good trading power saw drops in trading power; People who had mediocre trading power had an increase; and people with low trading power had an even bigger drop.

The guy said everything is switched around, so he thinks they may have to start from scratch and go back, undo what they did, then do the enhancement again. We will see.

I shudder to think how long that's going to take!!!! At least they seem to be acknowledging that there's a problem now, which is a step in the right direction.

So what is the exchange strategy?

If we see something we want should we use our once low now strong trader to book it? Or if we can, nab it with our once strong now weaker trader? It seems like we should be using the former if those previously low traders will turn back to pumpkins after the "undo".

I am in a quandry as to what to do because those old weak weeks are much further out than my once strong week and I hate to use it prematurely when I have other weeks that will expire before them. Does any of this make sense?

Prior to the enhancement I was pulling around 120,000 with both my red GC Reno weeks. I am now seeing around 135,000. Not a huge difference but enough to make me happy with it. :) As far as the resorts go, I have always seen the same resorts I am now seeing except for the Disney Resorts. The first 3 days of the change was the only time I have ever been able to pull Disney, but now I can't pull any. :( Maybe they were phantom weeks, as a previous poster suggested, but it was still nice to see them there. The site is still painfully slow. I also get kicked off if I have been searching for very long.

I cannot believe for what we are paying them between memberships and exchanges that they cannot find a company that doesnt screw up the website so badly just doing 'enhancements'

You Typed A Mouthful.

If the company weren't just a subsidiary backwater in some vast corporate ocean, they would either (a) be lots computer savvier than they are or (b) subcontract the whole works out to some computer-savvy enterprise.

At least the error messages are getting better:
