Manhattan Club & SFX a Coincidence??

On June 6th I sent SFX an email expressing my regrets for not being able to get even one exchange after more than 2 years a member. They haven't yet directly responded to my email- but on the 12th I get a call and an email that one of my requests has been matched to the Manhattan Club.

I'm not a big believer in Coincidence- anyone think these two events are related, or just coincidence??

Secondly- at least with RCI I believe that there are housekeeping fees that even an exchanger has to pay? Is this also true with SFX? The confirm doesn't state anything in that regard.

The exchange is for an executive suite that sleeps 4. Does anyone know how private the arrangements are for the second couple? Is it a pull out couch?

Lastly re SFX. When I request an exchange, the fine print states that if they offer me an exact match that I must accept it. (When requesting the exchange they ask for my credit card info). The email telling me about my Manhattan Club match (which was an exact match) gave me the option to refuse the exchange presumably without any cc charge. Is the fine print just a paper tiger?

thanks
don

The cxecutive Suite is a studio, some are as large as a one bedroom, but there is no lock off door as in the one bedroom.if you get one that is L shape
it will be a little private, it is a pull out couch. The good news you can get a cot to make it sleep 5,hay you will Be in NYC you should only need the bed about 6 hrs. per nite:

Someone might be right if they think this is related.

It's an RCI 'thang,' some entity is getting that money or maybe they split it.

yes, it's a couch/sofabed, I've been in many units there and had multiple Executive Studios, they are different, some smaller and some quite large but there is no division of sleeping space.

They'll hold you to it when it fits their needs.

The 'cot' I've seen sitting next to the service elevator is a single bed that stands on end with wheels, should be quite comfy and can stand against the wall when not in use.

What does legit mean to you? RCI and the resort can agree to anything and can do anything they want as long as they let you know ahead of your confirmation, you are agreeing to it too. Just like when you deposit with RCI, you agree that they can do anything with that deposit, if it's a great deposit in their opinion, they will try to rent it before they offer it to other members for an exchange.

I could be wrong but I don't think there's a real correlation. I've been very successful with SFX in the past, but I had been trying for an exchange to NYC for over a year when I called and asked about it. They told me that they had no available units. I decided to go to Paris using my Hilton points (earned from hotel stays) so I withdrew my request. Maybe you got my week.

I think you are reading to much into to coincidence.

SFX just happened to arrange a deal with Manhattan Club that they offered to everyone on 5/20/09. So that is perhaps that relationship is source of the exhange. Your email likely just benefited from a new business partner.

Well I'm thankful for whatever the reason- but it's worth mentioning that SFX has yet to respond to my email query.
