Does this resort have US electric plugs for 110v devices? or 220v International config?

(Cannot remember)

I'm there right now. US compatible plugs - I believe the voltage here is 127 V.

Thank you @Eric B

One more question for anyone who knows: What is the best way to notify the resort of room view preferences etc. Is there an email? or just call resort? How much in advance?

From my prearrival email:

Have Any Special Requests?
Text 612-699-8552*

I've gotten several texts from that number while down here. When we got here, we were able to shift from a low floor to a high one, but the view type is part of the booking process - is this a booking via HGVC or an exchange?

Thanks @Eric B RCI exchange. Pool or partial OV.

How many days before the visit did you get a pre-arrival email? FWIW we are HGVC Elite Plus owners.

Got the email 12/23 for a 1/6 check in. This was an HGVC Max reservation-no idea if they send emails for exchanges. Probably best if you ask for the partial ocean view if that’s what you want - we’re in a pool view and do like it. Heading to La Pacifica for the ocean views but really enjoy being able to just walk out in town here.

Just got back before Christmas.

It was really nice and easy.

Plenty of food options. We loved Café de Lolita (cafedelolita.com), Habaneros Bistro | San José del Cabo | Facebook, but honestly the food onsite was also excellent.

We walked a lot and went offsite and seemed safe enough, but I brought a small flashlight. There is some manure on some of the sidewalks.

La Comer is a local grocery store. Watch out for the Timeshare Sharks there. They will come up and try to be helpful, but really just want to hook you in… Don't talk to anyone! :)

Be careful on the Partial Ocean/Pool View. Last time we were there we wanted to be overlooking the Serenity Pools. They gave us a Partial Ocean View. It's Patio looked at the Construction at Grand Mayan and if you leaned far out you could see a sliver of Ocean. We are DRI Platinum. We went back to the Front Desk and complained. We did eventually get a Unit over looking the Serenity Pools. Our favorite location.

We have been traveling to Mexico for 20 years. Mainly San Jose del Cabo but also Cancun. We never had a problem with our USA plug in electrical stuff.

We've been to Cabo about 4 times and love it.

You will enjoy La Pacifica. The two things we didn't like was the studio kitchen was unusable for cooking so you need to eat at the restaurants on-site ($$$) or your need to Uber to town because there is nothing walkable from the resort. There are no running or walking trails as we like to venture. You can walk on the beach though.

Love Cabo Azul and the walk to town.

The only thing I don't like about Azul is the hefty $70/day resort fee. We have zero resort fees

Thanks! We got a 1 BR at La Pacifica, so it will have a bit better kitchen. Looking forward to trying that one out.

Please share photos of the 1 bdrm including the kitchen. La Pacifica is beautiful.

In addition to Azul we are trying out the Waldorf this trip via Honors points/FNCs. Looking forward to checking it out.

I recently stayed in the 1BR super duper at LP. It was amazing. Totally ocean front with excellent whale viewing.

We just booked the super instead of the super duper but are looking forward to the whales. Brought our binoculars this time!

Now I am curious about Cabo Azul. I love resorts where you can walk into town and are not tied to using Uber or taxis.

I have an HGVC resale week, so don't have access to Cabo Azul in my portal, but I do for Pacifica. I have seen some studios available in Interval, but does there seem to be better availability and unit sizes through RCI or do you really need to own Diamond?

1 and 2 BR will pop up in RCI.

I've seen all sizes in RCI. Will be considering a trade next year in II using one of our HGVC affiliates that trades in II.

The $70/day ($490/week) resort fee on top of the RCI/II/SFX exchange sucks. What is worse is that fee and the RCI/II fee are the same if you have a studio or 2 bdrm. I am also considering other resorts in RCI that don't have such fees.

TUG owner to owner exchanges could also work as long as it is not for profit.

We’ve done Playa Grande which is through RCI and it is excellent. Just add AI not required when searching.
