This has happened to me in the past. When I called Interval and had them try to do the same exchange that gave me that message, they got the same result. They ended up telling me that my unit used for the deposit was not sufficient to get the timeshare I was trying to acquire.

Thanks! That's a distinct possibility. However, I can see the units online for slightly different dates.

Phone reps are notorious for just making guesses to get you off the phone and on to the next person in their call queue. They have quotas to meet and trying to figure out the real issue takes too long.
