I know it is way off the beaten path but I am looking to hear from people who have stayed there. Please tell me your opinion of the resort. Amenities, cleanliness, comfortable rooms etc. Any restaurants nearby? Do you have to take a taxi from the resort to the public bus route? We have stayed at all of the Royals multiple times. Looking for something else.

Small resort with an small onsite restaurant that was good, but nothing nearby for places to eat. The suite was clean, but dated. The wall unit AC was too loud in the bedroom, so we shut if off and used the LR one for cooling at night. It's at the of a residential street with no beach and definitely no swimming (warnings posted). Using cabs would be a must. We used their office for offsite trips and we enjoyed those.

I have stayed at the Westin Lagunamar several times. I love the location. Just looking to try something different.

stayed there to obtain back to back 2 weeks with Westin Lagunamar . WIVC is totally Isolated with no Ocean beach as it is on Lagoon and has dated rooms. With no car we ate at resort restaurant almost every day which was just OK. Cancun has fantastic beaches on strip especially at Westin which is a 5 star resort compared to WIVC which I rate as 2 star. I will never stay here again.
