For many peoiple who don't own timeshares, learning about the good parts of the timeshare from a timeshare salesperson can be misleading. So I decided to create a video of the parts of Worldmark / Club Wyndham that I like. This comes from a person who has years of timeshare experience. and has practical experience as a traveler.

I wanted to provide an understanding of the benefits of Worldmark without the sales hyperbole or bluster. I've owned Worldmark timeshares since about 2016. I've been very happy with the product and have vacationed with them across the US... I've not done a lot of vacationing internationally, but plan to in the near future.

One of the best features about Worldmark is that the locations are significant. In addition, Worldmark has improved its features and capabilities. My top two new features are Club Pass you can book yourself and Booking with Vacasa.

Hi there.

We own Worldmark, with TravelShare and Club Pass. We are Platinum with 65,000 points.

just a few days ago we went through a Club Wyndham presentation where they tried to sell us on getting a small amount of Wyndham points saying that we'd get extra features if we did so. Specifically they said that one we were owners of both, we'd get TravelUp, which would mean that we would not longer need to pay for TravelShare, and that we would also be able to basically use our Worldmark point with Wyndham and vice versa with no charges at all. They also said any RCI exchange fees would go away. So basically we would be able to use our points from either system anywhere including RCI without ever incurring fees again.

They also said that with TravelUp we'd be able to rent out our points from either system AirBNB style to basically make money on any unused points.

They also said because we own Worldmark they would apply some of our equity to the purchase, basically cutting the cost in half. And that they would give us Wyndham Bronze VIP even though we wouldn't be buying enough Wyndham points to qualify otherwise.

I tried to ask a lot of questions, but this all sounded pretty fishy to me, so we passed. But just curious if anyone has both and can validate what we were told.

Thanks.

We are platinum VIP Founders and we pay RCI exchange fees of $299 for every exchange we make. That's one lie.

Salespeople should not be encouraging rentals because Corporate is against rentals of Wyndham reservations, unless you do it through Wyndham directly, and guess who makes all of the money on that deal? WorldMark, you can absolutely rent, until Wyndham changes the rules.

Good instincts.

Cliff for those who may be new I think it's super important to call out club pass requires developer-purchased credits. Resale credits cannot be used for Club Pass. Then folks can determine how great of a feature club pass is.

WorldMark, you can absolutely rent, until Wyndham changes the rules.
The right to rent is written into the WorldMark Declaration of Ownership, so "Wyndham" cannot change that rule. It would take 50% of the total voting power of the entire WorldMark membership to change that rule -- and that ain't ever going to happen.

There is no equity because a WM contract is not an asset. It is in fact a perpetual liability.
