I'm looking into trading for a summer 2018 week in New York City through RCI. I'm a weeks owner and will probably need to combine a couple of deposits to enter into an ongoing search. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me if getting a New York City trade is a possibility or if I'm just wasting my time trying because of such limited availability? Thanks for your help!

Are you looking for something that sleeps 2 or one that sleeps 4? One problem is combined deposits are only good for 12 months from the combine date that means you couldn't start a search prior to 12 months without paying an addition $100+ extend fee. I think you have an ok shot at a sleeps 2 if you start a search 12 months in advance and have at least a 2 month window during the summer.

Both of my deposits run through August of 2018. My only problem is I need something that sleeps three. A pullout couch has worked for us in the past though.

We have an exchange coming up in May into Manhattan Club, and we had no trouble getting a unit that sleeps 4, though the second bed is a foldout sleeper couch. I know May isn't summer for most people but we're going to week after our schools get out, so for us it is!

I've exchanged into the Manhattan Club 3 times. The first two times I stayed 2 consecutive weeks but they don't allow that anymore. I turned down several weeks until I got the exact week I wanted. I was even offered "Fleet Week." Getting the Manhattan Club was much easier to get as an exchanger as opposed to being a owner.

Be sure you confirm the expiration date 'assigned' when you combine. I had an unpleasant experience where it was only good for one year from the date of my transaction, if I remember correctly. So then you have to pay for an 'extension' as well.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.
