Have you had success selling or giving your timeshare away? Many of us have, so trying to see what methods have been the most sucessful.

I have so far success with 3. One I deeded back to the HOA, another I gave to a fellow tugger and the third my HOA did a permanent trade for a week I could use.

Please add Craigslist to your list. I gave away several there, as well as one on TUG.
I tried to edit, but it won't let me change the list. I asked in the survey, when other is selected to post like you did. I will keep track of the posts and report on where most others came from.

Gave a couple back to the HOA's, one to Wyndham Ovations, one to an HOA on with a years maintenance fee, and other to the HOA as the resort went bankrupt. We did give one away on tug and several a few years back to a company called Donate for a Cause, they took them for free but I don't know if they still operate. I guess we have had more timeshare than I care to admit, been doing this since 1997. We have moth most through resale so it doesn't hurt too much to give them back or away.

My "others" were through 1) a Facebook buy/sell group and 2) brokered through Marriott.

Otherwise, I have used the TUG Marketplace, the TUG Bargain Deals, and my most recent one is a private sale to an individual found through the HOA.

I would first call your resort to see if they will take a deed back. If not start by listing them on Tug Bargain Deal and placing an ad in the Tug Marketplace. Lots of other ideas here to try too that were shared in the previous responses.

Me too - I gave away one for FREE on Craigslist. I probably could have asked for $50 or $100.

When I was at my timeshare in the Bahamas I talked to people at the pool and found several who were enjoying themselves. I sold mine for the annual maintenance fee I had just paid. Since I had multiple weeks it was great to get rid of one without any additional cost to me and we did the paperwork right on site. Easy way.

gave one away on TUG, paid HOA to take one back, and managed to sell two weeks at a very low price when we were visiting the resort.

We greatly enjoy Timeshares and Own Six Marriott Vacation Club Atlantic Ocean Front in Hilton Head, one Marriott Vacation Club Atlantic Ocean Front in Palm Beach Shores, Treetops Gatlinburg, and one in Canaan Valley, WV.

Been Timesharing for nearly 30 years, and have exchanged all over US, Mexico, Europe.

Been buying and selling properties for 30 years, and selling will huge success.

Found that our FT Meyers Beach and Marathon, FL properties actually sold at small profit.

Every now and then, the Newly TUG listed Bargain Basement Timeshares for sale, all under $500 offer a great buy, and we recommend.

In 2000, we sold our Whiski Jack Red Week back to the developer for 1/3 of what we paid for it in 1993. Never used it and it was a poor trader. A one bdrm unit at Banff Rocky Mountain we, in essence, gave back to the HOA by not paying our maintenance fees after we learned we were paying the same amount in fees as the owners of 2 bdrm units having twice the space our one bdrm unit had. Management wouldn't correct that allocation.

for the life of me i can't see why anyone would want to "GIVE AWAY" a timeshare that they paid mucho $$$$$ for. if the property has become so unearthly bad, either from a cosmetic or financial disgrace point of view, sue the owners/sales department of the timeshare. timeshare owners haven't, for the most part, disposed of their sales price.............and exorbitant maintenance fees...................for charity's sake. i own in THE MANHATTAN CLUB, NYC. check it out: you'll see what we owners of this timeshare are going through.......and this is for prime new york city property. REALLY FOLKS, do you think we should give it away? NEVER.

I just (almost) completed transferring ownership of two timeshares via LT Transfers. They were highly recommended by Denise, and other Tuggers. It was simple, and not pricey. Thank you all! The signed paperwork is in the mail!
