Anyone know why there is nothing available at Fairfield Mountains in September and October?

Fall Leaf season .. busloads of tourist to see the colors? Need housing places.

And Wyndham is the site where all these new customers can stay and get $100 to attend a 'presentation' for things to do & see?

It could be just the typical deal with all of a sudden, whoops, there is no inventory available for several months. I've seen it happen with several resorts at the same time. There will be a lot of availability at a resort and the next day or a couple of days later you look again and there is nothing. If it is a resort you are familiar with you might know how very unlikely it is that much inventory got booked and so quickly too. Also how unlikely it would be that there absolutely nothing, not even a single night, for several months. I've learned to keep checking because it comes back. Sometimes not for several weeks so be patient and keep checking so you don't miss it.

November and the first half of December are wiped out, too. There's more going on than leaves.

Scattered single night and two night availability in July and August, but wiped out in November. Weird.

It is scenarios like this that place Wyndham under suspicion, and rightly so. As I have searched for vacation at new locations over the past couple of years, I have noted situations like this occurring more often.

I should mention we stayed here a couple of years ago but Wyndham sent us to Rumbling Bald Resort because (I think) of the day we checked in and the length of the stay. You may want to consider Rumbling Bald Resort if you are looking to stay in this area.

That happened to us once, too, except it was Fox Run instead of Rumbling Bald. Fox Run is a VRI facility and we own some VRI weeks. I told them if I wanted to stay in a VRI facility, I'd reserve a VRI facility. It didn't make any difference! Fox Run is okay but kind of remote to the rest of the place.

Wyndham is saying it is just book out. A combination of fixed week owners using their weeks and fall break.

I think we happened by Fox Run as we were driving around the area, but I don't remember too much about it. What I do remember is this was (and I would think still is) a nice remote area and we enjoyed our visit. This area is also on a list of areas we are considering for retirement relocation.

For years I tried to book the Mountains without any openings then last year more was available in the fall and was able to stay 5 days and when I noticed it open again was able to get this next week but no other openings .They told me last year there were no sales meetings which made it most relaxing.

This has happened a lot, and the inventory suddenly appears. I doubt they are being truthful.

Sure...that is what the call center rep is telling you because "our system is broke" or "I don't have a clue" does not sound as though they are in control...

I have had to call in to enough call centers over my career to know when someone is "blowin' smoke".

Case in point, I was provided a similar line a few weeks ago when I inquired about availability at Smugglers' Notch (our home resort for the past thirty (30) years) in January and February...the system was showing NOTHING for two (2) straight months...I knew that couldn't be right, but that's what I was told...

Lo and behold, I just checked again, and other than Presidents week, there is PLENTY of availability in January and February now...

Am I surprised...? Nope...:p. As has oft been repeated on this site, you are best to learn your timeshare system in order to get the most out of it...

Cheers!
