Thanks.
Retirement is awesome.
We spent 17 days in a 1Bd at WPORV in June (using our WSJ SOs) with no villa change which was nice.
Also, our WSJ neighbors joined us - extra nice.
Now, we are on a 19 day WKORV-Nanea stay using our HomeResort WKORV 1Bd OFD, 81K WKV SOs for the 2nd week, and then a 5-nite Nanea Promo Package (current) in a 1Bd that turned into a 2Bd (but lousy location unfortunately).
We started our trip with TS Olivia heading towards Maui - but turned out to be no issue for WKORV area and it was eerily calm. The snorkeling the next day (Thur?) was really clear. I will try and post more.
Fortunate to get 2629 - which IMNSHO is the best villa location in the entire VSN system (south view towards Black Rock over pool and elevator down to basement floor in B2, etc). I know that OFC are considered a better value (and I agree), but the panoramic view from inside and outside is unbeatable. And since we rent out the OFD studio side it helps the exorbitant MFs. Works out nicely.
The 2nd week we were given a little of that ‘surprise and delight’ when we were moved to another 1Bd OFD on the 1st floor. These are normally 95.7 SOs - so surprised that we got one with only 81K SOs ($930 in MFs). As mentioned in another thread - IME timestamp rules. Both of these reservations were made exactly at opening of online reservations. The 1st week the FD person said we were #1. It certainly was worth it.
It was a very interesting perspective since we are so used to the 5-6th floor views. With the trees cut back and the shrubbery off the balcony - it was very pleasant. Never saw those massage cabanas that are right off the balcony being used. The ocean perspective thru the palms was nice. And only 2 1/2 minutes to our beach spot with the exit door by the shuffle board.
The WKORVN pool closure put a lot more folks onto the beach with all the rented umbrellas in front of B2-B3 and all the TB umbrellas in front of WKORVN. Lots of great days with the Trade Winds gone.
