Is the unit number on my confirmation for WKOVN just a placeholder ?

I have unit 7377 on confirmation. I have never stayed here so have no idea if this is a good or bad location.

I also have a unit at WPOVR reserved for my daughter's honeymoon and have unit 1206 on confirmation. I hope that is not the unit. I have stayed here before and I do not like that building location.

They are just a place holders. If this is a Staroption reservation, it's a good idea to go online, find the reservations, and use the special request function to request the desired location. It's best to keep it general - like "a high floor in building 7." They won't accept a request that asks for "ocean front."

If you actually got this villa it would be:
Bldg. 7 (mostly ocean view facing green belt)
Floor - 3
Unit - 77

The nice thing about the North phase is that it has no units that directly face the parking lot.

What would be a good building to request for a studio in North? We are going in June

It's a floating view Staroption reservation so might as well request the best location - nothing to lose.

Thank yòu.. We are right at 8 mos but went for extra days vs oceanfront. Tough call but we are hoping to attach some Hyatt days to it. We are going to Westin Princeville in March but it is a II reservation so most likely we wont have a view

Certainly nothing to lose, but also having reasonable expectations as not to start off vacation on a negative footing. Have you seen the ‘privileged’ folks harassing Front Desk trying to get better locations?
I have.
Plus, the location requests have already stated by WKORV/N. They already have an algorithm for locations based on timestamp (e.g. highest floor, closest to ocean...). This is very clear based on my dozen stays at WKORV. And then you have certain people who think their ‘status’ somehow think that ‘timestamp’ doesn’t apply to them.
Plus, what if everyone called to make their request - which is already high floor, best ocean view. This has already led to WKORV/N limiting what can be requested.
Also, how to make that request? On line? Calling VSN? Calling the Front Desk?

If someone wants a 1st floor over higher floor (or locations that may not be considered the best) - then that is a request worth making. Otherwise, let it alone. Make a timely request - that is the best way to get the ‘best locations’.
Again, Timestamp is the best method to get location priority. I have seen this over and over - and goes to my direct experience. Go ahead and make a request, but if not at exactly 12 months or 8 months - set your expectations accordingly.
IMO YMMV

As I wrote above in post #2, I think the most reliable way to place a special request is online - I suspect that verbal requests are not alway recorded in the reservation notes. At least if you submit it yourself, you know it went in.
If this is a Staroption reservation, it's a good idea to go online, find the reservations, and use the special request function to request the desired location.

Of course, no requests are every guaranteed, but I think it's better to place a request, than not.

*No matter what kind of reservation I have, I always place a request in advance, and I've had good luck with it.

The unit number has historically been a placeholder. Do let us know after you return if you were actually placed in the unit listed on your reservation.

P.S. I never bothered with special requests. I always got a decent room, and have actually been upgraded to a better room on several occasions. (Of course, I traveled in low season a lot.)

Thanks for the replies. I will let you know if the rooms assigned were the actual units on our reservations. I have Eplus on the Maui reservation and might trade that for a bigger unit elsewhere if I am lucky though.
