Haven't been to Maui in a while and only have a week to explore any new dining establishments. Suggestions?

How long ago is “a while” (sic)? That makes a difference in responses.

Over a year. We were there for the Sentry Tournament last year.

We don't normally go to restaurants at resorts, unless they get rave reviews.

I don't know if Merriman's Monkeypod in the Whaler's Village was open the last time you were on Maui? We really enjoyed going there for lunch, and they also have a great Happy Hour menu. You can make reservations on Open Table, even for Happy Hour, so you won't need to wait for a table. Enjoy! CJ

What restaurants on Maui have you been to already? There could be some old ones you haven't tried yet that we might be able to recommend.

For the OP, we haven't been in a while either, but will finally be back on Maui in about six weeks. Based on our past favorites and some new ones we want to try, here is our list for our 7-night stay:

Kimos
Longhi's
Duke's
Leilani's
Hula Grill
Old Lahaina Luau (already booked)
Merriman's
Monkeypod
Cheeseburger in Paradise for the Sunset
Roy's

As you can see, we have some tough decisions to make. At least three won't make the cut...:ponder::ponder:

For dinners.. The Food Truck "mall" is now located across the street from the Times market. You will see them from the road, turn in by the Honu Kai. I've been hearing some good reports.
Also Joey's Kitchen at Napili Village, he has one at the Whaler's Village, has some good eats when you want casual.
Plantation House has a new menu.. some like it some don't.
Also a new Farmer's Market across the main Hwy from Napili Plaza.
Napili shore's has a night only restaurant Kitchen 5315.
