Airfare from San Diego to Maui

For the dates of Monday, May 25-Thursday, June 4 next year, what would you consider a reasonable fair? I found $400 RT on Alaska. It seems reasonable to be, but it's been years since I've been to Maui.

That's pretty good. You can get a bit lower with saver fare, but not too much. Be sure you have Alaskair credit card for free companion fare and checked bag per person.

Well, I applied for the Alaska card hoping to get instant approval. It didn't happen. So I guess I'll wait to get the card and hope I can get that fare again.

We flew the middle of May this year for $129 each way on an Alaska Saver fare. The plane was not full and had penty of room to spread out. That was the least I have ever paid for a flight to Hawaii. Flight prices tend to go up on June 1. I bought the ticket right when Southwest was announcing their flight to Hawaii and even though they did not announce any service from San Diego I think Alaska lowered prices.

According to Google Flights, the least expensive flights for round trips from San Diego to Kahului usually cost between $375–540.

Non stop is a little higher

Southwest has announced an April 14 start date for daily non-stop service from San Diego to Maui.

If this works like other Southwest route announcements, this will start a fare war.

We just got back from Maui. We paid 1066 for 4 people (2 companion fares), with 4 free bags. It came out to 267 per person. It was on the saver fare, but we picked our seats before we bought them. Flights were booked mid-June.

Google flight was based on his travel date range May/June timeframe.

And we will be going to Maui next Feb/March and spending very little as ALL flights were booked with miles. We are only paying (on United) for Economy Plus seats and (on Southwest) for Early Bird.
