Into our 2nd week here. Definately more peoplehere this week. Weather has been a bit cooler han usual especially the first few days. Staff has been tagging the lounge chairs. Have spread the word of TUG to a couple of people. Already getting sad about leaving Friday!

I hope you are enjoying time at WKORV. I'm sure it will get a lot busier by the end of the week. I recall seeing a picture of WKORV on the 4th of July where people were settiing towels on the lawn because of lack of space and the whole place looked like a zoo. Enjoy the rest of the week! Have a Mai Tai for me :)

Into our second week as well. Check-in was the busiest I have ever experienced. We couldn't get in until 4 PM. However, I was upgraded to ocean front for both my studio week and my current one bedroom week. Just fantastic. We were in 2427 and now 3429. Unbelievable views. They said I requested an upgrade when I made the reservation one year ago. I don't remember saying anything other than high floor close to ocean. When we checked in for the second week they said I was upgraded because I was an elite (just 3 star) and an ocean front was available. This has definitely spoiled me and my family. Every evening the sunset from our huge patio is magnificent.
Went to Ulalena last night. My granddaughter was actually a little frightened by the loud drums. Going to Warren and Annabells tonight and Hulu Girl dinner cruise on Thursday.
Weather has been spectacular. Took advantage of a 50% off coupon for good dinner at the Sheraton Black Rock Steak and Seafood restaurant.
Taking kids to aquarium this morning.

califgal: It did not register that you are at WKORV for *two* weeks and would overlap a week with us:doh: .....if it had, we would have attempted to meet you.....and we might have found a good home for 1/3-container of Costco artichoke-jalapeno dip......I thought you were only there for this week.

It was particularly breezy the morning of our departure (6/25)......

We own island view and were uograded without asking, to the dedicated one bedroom oceanview. Caught a cold Monday which is a drag, but still able to enjoy everything. I know people have said Dukes isn't very good but had a great fish dinner tonight and I am picky about my fish!

Just returned from Warren and Annabells. What a good show. Warren is a true card trick magician. He kept the audience very engaged. Everyone had a great time. The food was good. The service very attentive. I am a big guy and was sitting in the middle with little leg room. The let me sit in back with a chair so I vould stretch out and enjoy the show. I highly recommend this show.

My family and I are pretty picky about our food. We have been very pleased with Dukes as well and we have been now about 5-6 times. It might come down to expecations. Since it is not specifically a fish place or steak place and the prices are modest, I guess we probably don't expect the best. We love the location, views, and the food and drinks are pretty good.

I'm sorry about your cold and I hope that you get over it soon.

Thanks,my cold is getting better. Found out a great thing about Dukes...our daughter is allergic to shrimp and they have a whole grill dedicated to people with allergies. Usually she would have had to order a salad to be safe which she is fine with, but was thrilled to order a grilled chicken dish!

Kids went jet skiing yesterday near Hyatt. Got discount through Tom's Barefoot. Park at Canoe Beach which is public and free. Check-in is just 50 yards up the beach. Kids loved it. Another spectacular morning.
If you need a family place to eat and you are going to Kihei, I recommend Spices. Open air, very friendly, good and moderately priced menu. Takes about 40 mins. from WKORV.

Went on Hula Girl Dinner Cruise last night. It is the best one as far as I am concerned. You pay for the cruise and the dinner separately. Buy what you want to eat or nothing at all. Food is wonderful and much cheaper than eating at a restaurant. Filet mignon entree just $24. Very comfortable ride on catamaran. Holds maybe 35 or so. It was full last night. Owners and staff are very attentive. Board on beach near Whalers Village. Music and inexpensive drinks.
Today is our last day.

I could ride around on a catamaran off Maui every day. The Hyatt used to own a terrific cat, the Kiele V, that tragically sank a few years ago. Taking a sunset cruise was one of most recommended activities. I'll have to check out Hula Girl next time I go to Maui.

I am here now. I own a 2Bdr gardenview. We booked exactly a year out. We got building 4 BUT we are on the end so we have a pool/ocean view!!! In fact we have come twice and been given an oceanview both times!! IT is nice here and I know they say it is sold out but it just doesn't seem busy at all. No problem getting chairs together by the pool at any point. Love Maui!!

You probably got one of the technically classified island views (buildling 4, high floor, most of the odd-numbered units) that actually has a better view than some of the technically classified ocean views... :)

Boisebruin....I booked in the 12-8 month window, and even changed the date once still within that window. I'm sure we were upgraded because it was not full when we arrived.
