We have two new places where we've never been before and two favorites where we've been many times.
We're headed to Cancun in January. After the Caribbean got wiped out this past Summer, we had to make a change in plans. We were headed to St. Marteen for 10 days (first time, except for a short cruise stop). Never been to Cancun before. I haven't set up any tours yet; but researching here on TUG, I've got some ideas on how to spend a week away from the winter cold in this yet-unexplored area.
Headed to the Outer Banks in March for the annual
OBX Taste of the Beach. It's a fun four-day event. There will be over 60 events to participate in (Chowder Cook-Off, Wine Dinners, Craft Beer Brewery Tours, Winery Events, and many other interesting events to attend). We picked up a real cheap RCI Extra Vacation in one of the 3BR units at Beachwoods. Any time is a great time to be on the Outer Banks! But the events give us an opportunity to visit and partake in many of the restaurants' fun and tasty offerings.
Our big trip will be 10 days in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. We've never been to this area of the Rockies, but these two areas have so much to see and do that interest us that it's going to be jam-packed from start to finish. We'll be in Santa Fe for the annual
International Folk Art Market. Luanne was kind enough to share a bunch of information on great restaurants and fun and exciting places to see and explore.
The last week of August we head to Hilton Head. We haven't been there in five years and are well overdue. It's a place where we've been many times over the years in different timeshare accommodations. I saw a week setting online during a time frame that I love, staying in accommodations that made us very, very happy the one time that we stayed there previously. Kingston Cove is a small group of free-standing 3BR cottages in Shipyard Plantation. Half the units set on a lagoon and the other half overlook the golf course. We previously stayed in a unit overlooking the lagoon. The unit this time will also overlook the lagoon. There's a screened porch to sit on and enjoy the lagoon and all it's wildlife. It's a short bike ride to a great beach and we will have access to all those wonderful bike trails to enjoy! The last time that we stayed in Hilton Head during week 34 was wonderful. It wasn't crowded like the peak Summer months and the weather was perfect!
I would have to say that the New Mexico and Hilton Head trips are the two that I am most looking forward to; however, the other two are close seconds.
