I don't think this is advertising? San Diego county is auctioning off timeshares.
"“Our online system is as easy as using eBay,” McAllister explained. “People sitting at home can browse and bid on 1,236 properties currently available, including 987 timeshares starting as low as $100.” www.sdttc.com Could be some good deals there.

Out of curiosity I went to check this out. I'd gotten a postcard about it, but threw it away. The list is going to be very time consuming to go through. You literally have to click on each of the 987 timeshares in order to get a description of where it is.

The site indicates it is a buyer be ware auction. Checking California Law before bidding on a timeshare. In addition to what taxes, costs, etc. that would need to be paid, if it is a as is where is sale, the question becomes do past due MFs have to be paid to have the HOA honor the sale for use purposes?

Also, you may want to check to see if the sale clears any money owed when the timeshare unit was bought.

The ones with the Blue Herron address I believe are Aviara Four Seasons.

How can someone research if there are any past due MFs or other liens on property? Seems confusing to figure out which one to bid on. Any suggestions?

If you look at this page http://www.sdttc.com/content/ttc/en/tax-collection/timeshare-associations.html it lists all the San Diego County timeshares that have units in this auction. They are helpfully organized by city.

According to the website; "Only those Timeshare Associations located within the county of San Diego with ownership intervals that have been tax-defaulted for five or more years are listed. There are timeshare intervals subject to the Treasurer-Tax Collector's power to sell in the communities of Carlsbad, Coronado, Del Mar, Escondido, La Jolla, Oceanside, Pacific Beach, Ramona, San Diego, and Solana Beach."

I reviewed the information last week. I noted a lot of units at Sand Pebbles and Winners Circle up for auction. I’m thinking a lot of those same owners are in default on their MF’s.
