I have been searching for Myrtle Beach or Cape Cod for summer 2019. I have weeks deposited with RCI worth 53 in exchange power. I expected to see more inventory than is showing up. Am I too early in the search process?

My resort doesn’t let me bank my week until I pay the use year Maintenence fee. I own Holly Tree in Yarmouth, MA. I pay my Maintenence fees in December. For the following year.

I think even most (but not all) early birds aren't going to deposit summer 2019 until after Easter. Many with float weeks can't reserve prior to 12 months before check in and even then may make you prepay the MF which leave many owners to wait until Oct-Dec of the previous year to reserve and then deposit.
I think it is good to start looking early- for example I think Vistana already did their big Myrtle Beach Deposit for 2019 about a month ago. I few other developers bulk deposit very early too. On the other hand many deposits come in 15-10 months prior and some later still.

For Cape Cod, definitely get your ongoing search in now. (I don't know much about Myrtle Beach, but same thing, you probably need an ongoing search.) What are you looking for? What are your dates?

The Cape is pretty easy to get in June if that is an option for you.

You are not too early in the search process at all. Make sure you have an ongoing search in place for both locations. This puts you close to first in line before others who don't plan as early as you do. The biggest problem you face is that most summer owners either use their week or rent it out on sites like TUG or RedWeek. I own three summer weeks at Cape Cod Holiday Estates and use one and rent the other two out. Despite that fact, you are in line early enough, that you should get something once a deposit is made. It just might not take place until November or December. Best of Luck.

Have you tried a TUG exchange? Put an ad for what resort you have and what you want in return.Someone May have exactly what you want.
