Shuttle to Vacation Village at Parkway - Is it faster?

I'm considering staying at Vacation Village at Parkway next month for our Disney trip. Has anyone used the shuttle provided by VVP to get to the parks and Universal? And if you have, how much extra time does it take to get to the parks, over taking your own car?

In all our times staying there we have never taken their shuttle to any of the parks. We like to get to the parks just ahead of opening and often stay until closing. We (DH) can drive to Disney in about 10 mins from where we usually stay in Bldg.6. Last time we were there we heard people complaining that the shuttles left VV@P too late (ie; well after opening), were often very crowded and left the parks to return to VV@P too early. Again that is not based on personal experience, just what we heard around the pool at the guest services desk. YMMV.

We found the drive from VVP to be easy to the parks and enjoy being in control of when we come and go. If I remember correctly, they only drop at one Disney location, so it would be faster to drive your own car directly to the park you want to visit.

Thank you all! We will take our own car. I, too, like to arrive well ahead of opening time and stay until they kick us out....haha! Thanks for the info!
