One change I noticed in my booked reservations screen: you can now modify an existing reservation to add Points Protection Insurance (PPI) without calling a VC. A VC also said you can cancel a reservation online that's subject to the PPI and have your points returned.
That's offers some flexibility - you can now add PPI online up to 11:59pm 15 days prior to arrival vs just before the reservation line closing time on the 15th day prior to arrival.
This is nice, if you care about PPI. I wish they would fix some pretty basic things that have been messed up before adding enhancements that only drive their revenue.
Have you ever accidentally said continue when the PPI was selected (btw, it conveniently defaults to yes)? There is no way to go back to the PPI page. You have to completely exit your booking and start all over again. (A complaint also about other steps in the booking process).
As an aside, I have gotten knocked out of the system (back to the login screen) at random places, including booking. And then I have to wait 15 min, it seems, as a 'transaction is in progress'. Let's hope they are fixing that?
And on my IT soapbox. Never use wishful thinking as a strategy. Ignoring issues with core functionality, wishing they will just go away, has NEVER worked. So here is Wyndham, building new functionality on a shaky foundation. PPI has had issues as well as introduced issues in other core areas, and is probably what they are continuing to work on. Likely a sign of the future with this website, with any new functionality they attempt to implement.
