Hello everybody,

I acquired a resale Vistana week and recieved a letter in the post letting me know that I am overdue on my VSN membership fee for 2019. I thought there was no VSN membership fee on a resale non mandatory resort. The transfer was started prior to 2019 and happened in December.

Any suggestions?

What do you own? There isn't a membership fee for voluntary resorts - when you received your bill, was the fee listed? Vistana often makes these mistakes on transfers - they forget to remove the Staroptions. You might want to take a look at the Villa Finder and see if you have Staroptions.

Since the flag for VSN Member is a manual update when the title department does the transfer, perhaps they made a boo boo in your favor?

I had this fee on one of my voluntary resorts bill. I called Vistana at the time (i think mid-November). At the end of December it was still not resolved (after a 2nd phone call) and I did pay the whole amount (MF plus VSN fee), I was promised that it was going to be resolved and i would see a credit soon. It was only resolved early January and i was told that they had many cases with a similar situation.

I wish that was the case! Unfortunately no StarOptions were showing, just the fees.

I am confused.
I have purchased resale Flex options package. It shows that I am a VSN member and that I can use Staroptions in my use year and even convert to hotel points.
I phoned to fish if this is right and asked when I could book a resort outside of the home options and when I could bank my Staroptions. I was told that my options are already Staroptions but the difference is when I can book my home resorts or other resorts outside the system and therefore do not convert to Staroptions. I thought it is two different things.

Vistana will eventually correct the webpage showing that your resale FlexOptions make you a VSN member; they do not.

The person who told you that you have StarOptions of any kind was confused. You know what you own -- resale FlexOptions.

I did check and I was not a VSN member or could use Staroptions. I called them and they removed the fee within a day(They said it may take a week).
