Welcome to TUG. Sorry to hear about your difficulties. It sounds like you are past the 5 day rescission period. If you are not, rescind immediately.
Otherwise, you have three options:
1) Sell or give it away. Depending on what you own 2,200 points may have to be given away. ($9,000 loss)
2) Figure out how to use and maximize it. You bought it for a reason. HGVC has great availability but you have to reserve 9 months in advance. You cannot reserve 2 - 3 months out because nothing will be available. Read the TUG stickies in the HGVC forum and the HGVC tutorials on the HGVC portal on how to reserve and maximize ownership. Many owners here purchased developer and figured out how to get the most out of their property.
3) Depending on where it's located, you could rent out your home week to cover Maint Fees or more. Again, you will need to learn about how to reserve. Note: You can only rent out what you are deeded in the season you purchased. If you can get a small profit the property may be worth keeping, otherwise you may want to give it away if you won't ever use the system ($9,000 lesson).
