I think they don't know they should be----but I think they are in LOVE?

I've been watching for a week----and that's what I am SEEING!

Could that BE??

I have no pictures.

But, several times in the last week, a male Cardinal comes in with a Blue Jay.

They go to the feeder on my tree, take turns, looking out for each other (like the Male/Female Cardinals do), then fly off together.

I agree that they are in love. Maybe they are color blind and do not care that one is Red Cardinal & other is a Blue Jay. This is a True Love Story.. LOL.

During the "love" season - male cardinals will "mate feed" the female. They will pick up seed and bring it to their lady to eat. If you happen to see the Blue Jay getting a meal....then I think you will have your proof.

Ah yes, no matter the species, the anticipated results remain the same.

They are shacking up at the local motel that offers free sunflower seed and suet breakfast.

But OUR 'buffet' outside is better than that!!!!

We have 4 other Cardinals that come by, and several Blue Jays (harder to identify different ones).
