I never did this before so just not sure. I have reserved my week at home resort for next June 27- July 4th. So if I wish to try to exchange, always keeping my own ressie if I don’t find what I want, how do I do it?

I assume you mean via II exchange. If so, when you place your request, you select the Request First option, which means you keep your unit until your match is found. Even if you find a match, you get 24 hours to cancel the exchange.

You do need to be sure that Interval have a current, valid email address registered and you need to monitor this regularly though.
Otherwise, you may miss the opportunity to cancel if the match is not the one you really want.

And if it has a lockoff, perhaps you should do that so you get 2 weeks.

Or, you can simply look on interval website for what is available at the moment. We've found so many gems that way that we would have never found otherwise.

And you have 2 options at 75 days out, keep your week or deposit at that time. You need to select an option at the time of initiation or later (you can later change it) but if you don't, they likely will select the deposit at 75 days option for you and you could have an issue if they later deposit it when you didn't want to.
