Was checking out some listings at WKORV through a resale in Kaanapali and noticed that they are listing the unit # and week. I thought this was merely for accounting purposes and had no bearing on the actual unit you are allocated upon check in. Can anyone confirm? In other words, just because you “own” unit 4418 you don’t necessarily get it if booked during your home resort period

WKORV - 2 DOF, 2 OF
Sheraton Lakeside Terrace Villas at Mountain Vista - 2 winter, 1 summer, 1 shoulder
Some units are fixed week, fixed unit. When we purchased 2 WKORV units in separate transactions several years apart, we were actually surprised to find out we were purchasing a fixed week, fixed unit - week 6, 3628/30 and week 11, 3330/3331. The original owner likely paid a premium to do that. In most cases, the seller will probably advertise that in the ad though, and if not, the realtor will be able to find out for certain. The terms to look for would be "floating" vs "fixed/fixed." I do know that someone else owns fixed week/fixed unit week 7, 3628/3630. I think all the Christmas / New Years weeks are considered fixed/fixed as well.

Thanks, yes I am aware. I was looking at floating island view for barebones initial cost and I couldn’t figure out why the brokerage would have differing prices for the same EOY island view at WKORV. Just doesn’t make sense.

In building 4, aren't there some "deluxe" island views units stacked in the corners of the building? That could account for the differing prices? CJ

Because there are Premium vs Deluxe IV units.
Also - often prices are distorted by incorrect inclusion/exclusion of fees.

Why buy resale WKORV/N for SO usage?

I wouldn’t be buying for SO usage... was mostly looking to supplement our 2BR OF in WKORVN so that guests could come along too. And we could rent in the off years.
