This is really helping me. I am six days in and decided to write my letter today (I have ten days). My question is Wyndham gave me the email address and fax number. My contract says to mail a letter. I faxed. I emailed. Should I still send the certified letter tomorrow morning? It will be postmarked the 7th day which I believe is still okay.

Absolutely. Your rescission is not valid unless done according to the contract.

I emailed them, sent two faxes (just in case), and I sent a typed certified letter (modeled after one I found here) stating I wanted to begin the rescission process. My husband and I both signed the faxes and the certified letter. I used the PO BOX 94443. My deadline is Tuesday. I think I have it covered, but I wanted to double check and make sure I didn't miss anything.

I am so ashamed I was talked into this. My husband is a very logical person, and he was adamant about buying last Saturday. By Sunday, I was sick to my stomach, and by Wednesday my logical husband returned to me. The music and people dancing and party atmosphere was so overwhelming. Lesson learned.

We are glad you found TUG. If you don’t mind my asking, what was the total price of your rescinded TS?

I need help again. I found the rescission in the state I purchased is 10 days but the state I live is 6. I send letter on 7. Did I screw up?

No need to beat yourselves up over this. You might be surprised how many people fall for these sales pitches and even more surprised about the backgrounds of many. Buyers come from practically all races, ages, education levels, social classes, income brackets, political and/or religious persuasions, etc. It's amazing how these sales people can really work these buyers when they have them in the rooms for hours on in.

The important part now is that you follow the rescission instructions carefully.

No. What counts is the state in which you signed the contract. You have ten days so get cracking.

Thank you, again. I also found in tiny print I can choose the most beneficial term. So, with one email, two faxes, and one certified letter, I am praying I have all my ducks in a row. I am a nervous wreck.

Consider your ducks all lined up. Go celebrate. You won! Now the waiting game begins. Don't accept any phone calls from them or unknown origin.

Don't be a nervous wreck. As long as you sent it certified mail within the allowed rescission time limit then you should be absolutely fine.

Allow up to 45 days in order to see your money fully refunded.

Keep us posted.

You are good. What mainly counts is where you signed. Mind telling us how much was your rescinded TS?

@RMurphy you've ignored several requests to let the group know how much you would have spent on the timeshare. It is not that the group is nosey nor will the group berate you. It is simply to allow TUG to add your amount to the cumulative amount TUG has saved people in getting them to rescind a developer purchase. There will be no shaming.

If it helps, I rescinded a $5k developer contract at first. I probably should have known better

I am sorry but I wasn't thinking of shaming. I was not comfortable sharing for personal reasons. I was raised not to discuss amounts or personal financials. My father was a banker so the lesson goes deep. It was 25,000. I am sorry if I offended you. I do not usually discuss financials, weight, or religion.

No apology necessary. I just felt that you were uncomfortable because you didn't know the reason it was being asked.

I am worried. I sent the letter on July 16th via USPS. I have a tracking number, however I did not get signature confirmation like I thought I requested with the clerk. Also, my letter is typed. Should it have been handwritten? The contract states, "you must notify the seller in writing of your intent to cancel." I simply interpreted this as it could not be done by phone or in person.
Should I resend a handwritten letter with a signature confirmation?
Good morning @COURTNEY KILGORE , we hope your rescission went well and that you are enjoying life without the financial burden of a developer/resort TS purchase. Solely to track how much TUG have saved TS owners, mind sharing how much you saved with the rescission? There is no shaming, as half of tuggers have bought a developer/resort TS.
