Hi,
I just signed up at Hyatt Residences in Maui and now am afraid I made the wring choice. If I do resale instead, what do I lose out on?

The Hyatt Ka'anapli Beach Residence is a great resort. However, I would personally rescind if you have questions regarding the purchase, and resale vs. developer pricing.

If you rescind, you lose any of the incentives - example World of Hyatt Points. Also your HRC unit cannot be traded for Hyatt Hotels, though general opinion is that this is a bad deal anyways (maintenance fees vs hotel costs).

Those are top of mind for me, but others at the Hyatt subforum will know more:

For resale asking prices, you can check out:

If you have flexibility in your travel schedule, then you should have good success in the resale market. If you want a particular week or floor or floorplan, then you will have to wait till an opportunity presents itself.

Definitely rescind. There should be instructions in your paperwork. Make sure to send certified mail with a receipt.

I personally love the Hyatt system, but would never buy retail especially if you aren't entirely sure of how everything works. You only have a short period of time in which you can rescind, and with the amount of money that's at stake, I would think you would want to be 100% certain that you are making the right choice.

Best of luck!
