Sunwing is continuing its Caribbean-Mexico expansion with a pair of new routes to the increasingly popular destination of Mazatlan.

The Canadian travel giant is launching direct flights from both Ottawa and Quebec City to Mazatlan, the company announced this week.

The Ottawa flights will run from Dec. 17 through April 14, 2020...

...The new Quebec City will launch Dec. 17 as well, running through April 14, 2020.”

Good memories in Mazatlan. Not so much for Sunwing vacations. I have no faith in their customer service let alone their logistics and safety in the air because of the first.

In 2011 I disputed a hotel only stay because it was not up to par and the Suwning rep either lied or did not know. The charge was successfully disputed. 2016 I book a same day hotel only stay for 2 rooms and was cancelled because of detection of fraud. No notice to me or the hotel as to why. In the end I received $1800 on vouchers that can be used anyway. Reservations have to be paid first with cash and then 6 weeks after travel reimbursed. Book in 2017 and after the stay told the vouchers are non transferable and have to use in full. In 2019 I book and the next day am informed the reservations are cancelled due to previous fraud. I ask for $3600 in cash as that was double and now around 6k in cash as the agent did not get it. I would never have accepted vouchers in 2016 if it was explained to me that I could not redeem them. The original issue went to the Toronto Star to resolve but apparently Sunwing negogiated in bad faith then. From what I have seen a company that does not know what one group is doing at best.

I agree with the above..beware...traveled to their packaged resorts and flight only. Have had good and sub-par travel with them. We stopped the all incisive deals, which can be real good deals on the surface. Why? Over crowding at resorts, resorts with not enough resources or facilities for the crowds they have booked, line up for everything, be sold "upgrades" that mean almost nothing...and if you have an issue , very difficult to deal with. "not sunwing its the resorts issue"... news flash Sunwing YOU are the agent, selling the package! A $50.00 or $100.00 Sunning coupon is meaning less. So yes beware.
