We are about 3 weeks after our accepted purchase offer on a platinum week was presented to Marriott. Hoping for it to pass. Knowing there is likely no rhyme or reason, can I be optimistic based on the lack of a quick reply from Marriott?

Marriott does have 30 days in which they can exercise so be patient.
Most Closing Companies electronically submit the offer to Marriott's ROFR department so their response can be very quick if in fact they want it to be.

Just remember some resorts like Maui Ocean Club have a 15-day ROFR. Mountainside is 30 days according to Syed's website. So they can take longer if they want to. My Maui decision (mine passed) took 14 days back in January 2018.
I purchased a Mountainside platinum week in March of this year, also for $15k. Mine passed ROFR at that amount. I received my ROFR decision notification from Marriott exactly 1 week after it was submitted.
Right, this is the most important factor. I'm sure some resorts will differ, but when I purchased MOW resale, the closing company that handled the deal sent me an email confirmation of the ROFR submission, and also told me that he would hear by the following Wednesday. He obviously does a lot of work with Marriott and the SC-based resorts. We heard back the following Tuesday with a passed ROFR.
It will be 4 weeks this Friday that we returned the contract. We were informed that it would be submitted to Marriott the following Monday but have not received confirmation from the broker. I will give until it Monday and follow up if we still have not heard back on ROFR.

I sure hope you get the week. We love Park City. We don’t ski so we go in the summer. The resort is a quick drive from the airport. You should be able to get on the slopes well within 2 hours after your plane lands. Try out the hot springs.
I found out yesterday that Marriott waived ROFR. Yippee! Our delay was that the closing agent did not send the waiver to Marriott until August 15. True or not I was told the seller did not timely return some documents. The good news is it passed at 15k. I added it to ROFR.net.
