I think it probably seems like everybody should know him because you happen to know him. But some people are more known for what they did, than for what their name is. Your friend is famous because he started Hooters, just not so much for his name.

Their wings are pretty good IMO. Ate 44 of them at the all you can eat wings at their location in Cancun in January.

Hmmmmm!? I hadn't thought that. There's a lot of people I know that I wouldn't figure anyone here would, just because I do.

I thought some here might know him because he is a prominent Florida businessman, and involved with some resorts.

I agree. The key word for that might be "Florida." Being on the west coast, there are lots of east coast businesses and businessmen I know nothing about. He may be locally well known in your area, but as others have pointed out, he may be better known for the results of his work, than for what his name might be.

You might want to list the resort names or other businesses he's involved with, and ask the question again. People might know him via his involvement with specific things, and not by his actual name.

Kind of like the old joke about, "Oh, you run a Las Vegas hotel - do you know John Smith?"

Florida is on the East Coast, much more than it is on the West Coast. My larger point is there are things and people there that will be familiar to you that may not be as familiar to people in other parts of the country.

And before you decide to dissect my words any further, and continue to try and bait me into some sort of argument, I am done replying to this thread.
