Hello,

I will also post this in LMR, but I thought I would post here, too...

I am a Wyndham owner (VIP...thanks Mom & Dad). I am looking for a weekend rental in Canmore (AB) in September (13-15 or 20-22). I know I could use the WorldPass to access the resort, but I also have read that WM owners can get some pretty sweet, cash-only deals, so I thought I would see if anyone here could swing that for me and what the cost would be...

I am also willing to swap a WM unit for a Wyndham unit of equal value, if that is what is of interest to you...

I look forward to hearing from someone.

Cheers!

I checked early this morning (Pacific Timezone) and found no availability, at that time, for Sept 13-15 but both 1BR (sleeps 4) and Studio (sleeps 2) units for Sept 20-22. Unfortunately, there were no cash specials available to my account for either weekend.

I hope you can find an owner willing to work a Direct Exchange with you!

I think you might have a slightly inaccurate idea of "sweet, cash-deals". Weekends cost the most points/credits - like all points systems. So weekends in red season will cost 4400 credits for a 1BR. The cash deals vary from week to week and by resort. When they are available, it's about $0.08 / credit and then usually around 10% tax on the total. So the weekend dates you're thinking of will cost about $385 USD / $515 CDN. You may be able to find some hotel units with a kitchenette or B&B unit for less. I rarely find it worthwhile to book just weekends in high season. You may be better off booking using your Wyn points - I'm not a Wyn points owner.

There is currently one 1 BR unit available for Sept. 13-15 and at least two 1 BR units available for Sept. 20-22. There are no cash "sweet deals" available at this property for WM owners. Unless the property goes on Monday Madness before then, guest use of cash "sweet deals" is limited to 5 days in advance.

As a WorldMark owner, I could reserve this for you now using my credits. $450 for the credits, plus $100 for the housekeeping, plus $100 for the guest certificate. Let me know if you are interested.

Maybe you can get a better deal using Club Pass.

We will be spending next week in Banff at the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort....we are renting from an owner so got a great price...1200 for the week. I was looking at rooms in Banff just in case the kids want to come for a quick getaway...just rooms are going for 300-400 a night. Good luck...if you can get a Worldmark in Canmore for a couple of days I would grab it.
