"The lights come on at Wrigley Field."
Charter schools (imo) undermining funding of public schools.
Budweiser owned by a Belgian conglomerate.
Chrysler & Jeep made by Fiat.
And SO MANY changes that violate TUG rules. . . .

I love my paper maps!

Me too! When I was a child, my parents gave me a map and let me navigate on long road trips. Kept me quiet in the back seat. Today, GPS thinks you can reach my house by driving through the stucco wall in my back yard. Several times Uber drivers have called, confused.

Google search. I spent many hours in libraries doing research. If you'd told me I'd be able to get all that info on a mini telephone in my pocket, I would have been incredulous.

I used to know all the research librarians at my public library by voice before web searches. They were amazing.

Esports. Young adults gamers making six-figure incomes playing video-games with an audience who pays to follow/watch them. Potential inclusion in the Olympics.

Just how small the world has gotten and how integrated. Companies today domicile in one place but are truly global. I never thought the world would integrate so much.

Along the lines of paying for water, who would have thought that people would pay more for water than they pay for gasoline even when they could still get it for free.

Right. We never pay for bottled water. We think that's crazy!

And funny- we have always had a wells at both our first and current home (and septic). Once we move to our retirement home we will have to pay for city water (and sewer) for the first time in our lives!

Technology has definitely been a step forward. However social injustices are still prevalent. It’s disheartening when your 5yr old is called the “N” at school. I remember when I was called the same as a child and having to participate in bussing. I was hoping we would have cast aside many of the attitudes that fuel discrimination and racism.

On the social injustice thing, I agree with you 100%. Very surprised as I was a kid in the 60s and 70s, and would think MLK would be disappointed at our lack of progress. T

The injustices also still are around based on peoples religion.

I was brought up in a multi diverse community and still choose to live in one. Being everyone in my word seemed the same I learned about the unjust by stories my parents and friends parents told me.

Regardless of our differences I was brought up to respect everyone. It starts at home, hate is taught.

I understand the not paying for water thing and soon we might be buying air but make sure you have it tested

A friend has an aquarium and his city water has too much fecal matter in it to be used in the fish tanks

So if the fish can’t swim in it. I wouldn’t drink it

We buy water by the truckload

Yes- we intend to have it tested. I believe the city comes out and does it for free.

Even with our well here, we have a water filter on the main line.

E cigarettes exist only due to corporate greed. Otherwise they would not exist.
