Auction just closed, tried to bid just under $1K for this as it seemed low risk with the seller paying all closing/transfer even though usage wasn't until 2021. But some more savy ebayers had higher $amounts in and I don't think ebay even logged in my "place bid". Auction ended at $1,225 I think.

Would it have been a respectable deal if I was able to buy this for $1K? or should I have passed altogether? My goal is get somewhere in the range of 10-15K in HGVC Points for the lowest cost out of pocket now, without MF per point being above $0.20.

Presently looking into similar projects. I believe the only way is to go for a higher point contract. 7k minimum per contract is the way to go. IMO

@emoneybug how many of these types of deals would you need to reach 10 - 15k annual points? What would the MF and total buyers fees add up to? Compare that with buying two 7 or 5K annuals and do the math as to when you breakeven on each.

Check my math:
6 EOY Deals = 15,500 points @$1000cost+$600Activation+0 Assume Free Closing/Transfer=$9,600
2 EY Deal = 7,000 points @$Unknowncost+600Activation+Unknown if Free Closing/Transfer possible=$1200+Unknown ...this means if I could close 2 7,000 point deals for $4,200 inc closing...it would be breakeven before factoring in MF difference values.

My brain hurts thinking of this and I probably forgot other financial factors. I just need 3 EY 5000 pt giveaways for free with low MF :)

FREE or low priced HGVC's are rare. Most of the time MF sucks on those I have seen.

Good start. What are the total annual MF associated with each of those choices?
