Mu husband is attending a large convention on Oahu [in June], 2020 at the Honolulu Convention Center, and I am tagging along. I would like to attach a timeshare week to this, ideally [redacted], but would do a week after the convention, checking in [dates redacted] if that's all I could get.
I am looking for a legal condo to rent close to the convention center and not having much luck. I am aware of the new laws concerning zones and short term rentals. Does anyone have any experience renting a condo close to the convention center they would share ? Ideally I would like a unit with a kitchen or kitchenette, king bed, a lanai, and at least a peek of the water. But I would be willing to compromise.
I have a search in with II for Ko Olina with a Marriott, Thanksgiving week 1 bedroom at Shadow Ridge. And I do my own on line searches daily. I would take a studio, but would love a larger unit.
I have been watching units on AirBNB disappear while I wring my hands over this, and now my favorite "saved units" are not available. I have never rented from AirBNB before, so that is part of my hand wringing.
We spent one night in Oahu years ago when we took a voluntary overnight bump on our leg home. We saw downtown and went to Pearl Harbor and that is the extent of our Oahu knowledge. My husband likes the quieter islands, so this might be my only chance to see Oahu.
